Weight loss is like pushing a boulder up a hill whilst blindfolded.
- It requires effort and work to get to where you want to be.
- You cannot see how close you are to the top or how long it is going to take to get there.
- If you stop pushing then you aren’t going to get any closer to the top. You may even get pushed backwards a little.
- If you give up then the boulder will roll all the way back down that hill and you will have to start all over again.
Always be brutally honest with yourself. We all take days off and relax our efforts and that is okay and is even necessary sometimes. But don’t be surprised if you are not any closer to the top of the hill if you haven’t been pushing as hard as you could.
Weight loss is difficult! Anyone that tells you they have a quick and easy way to lose weight is probably lying.
Weight loss takes time and a tonne of effort. Sticking with your programme can be so challenging because we can’t always see any progress. Sometimes it feels like we aren’t moving anywhere even though we are working extremely hard.
Days and even weeks may go by without feeling or seeing any progress. This is normal, progress is not linear. But when we come across these times it is very easy to talk yourself into giving up BUT YOU MUSTN’T!
Sometimes we may need to adjust and try a new approach but whatever happens, when you come across times like this, it is vital that you dig deep, keep pushing and trust that eventually you will get to the top of the hill.
